What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is a form of neurotherapy that analyzes a patient’s brain waves in real time and then retrains the brain through audio or visual cues. It works to understand how each brain functions, where it is failing or working in a way that’s hurting the patient, and then change these functions to help the patient with a neurological or mental health disorder.

 

Patients describe it as playing a video game with your eyes, ears, and mind. As you “play,”  you are challenged to redirect brain activity, and rewarded when you succeed. Over the course of several sessions, usually about 20 one-hour sessions, you will see changes in your thinking and in other parts of your life, from sleep to stress.
